Big Failure

I had a pretty big failure today. I'm just not going to be able to do the Jump piece like I though I could. I got 6 webcams and each one of them individually works with max, and I can even get any 2 of them to work together at the same time on Max, but none of them work when I plug them into the USB hub, so I can't plug more than 2 webcams in at a time because the computer only has 2 USB ports on it. Without a hub there is absolutely no way to plug in more than 2 webcams. So I pretty much have to scrap that idea.

There is another possibility, but I feel like giving up. I could reduce it from 8 cameras to 4 cameras and use one of those security system with 4 cameras. It will combine 4 cameras into a single video. Then I can get a digitizer to import the video, and split it up into 4 videos in MaxMSP. But I'm just so demoralized, I just feel like giving up.
